Electro pop innovator La Roux is officially back after years of relative quietness, the british artist has announced new album "Old Flames", arriving September 5, alongside the release of lead single 'Cabin Fever' a glossy ‘90s-inspired return that trades futurism for reflection.

Since breaking through with era defining synth-pop records like 'Bulletproof' and 'In For The Kill', Elly Jackson’s catalogue has remained intentionally selective each release functioning less like content and more like a carefully staged reinvention.
Old Flames appears to continue that pattern according to Jackson, the album is designed to “say things how they are,” positioning the project as more emotionally direct and personally grounded than previous work.
Lead single 'Cabin Fever' shifts away from the colder synth architecture associated with La Roux’s earlier work.
The return arrives during a wider resurgence of musicians influenced by synth-pop nostalgia and dancefloor oriented alternative music artists recycle those aesthetics for trend value.
La Roux occupies a different position as they helped shape the sound many newer acts are now referencing.
La Roux’s cultural impact has expanded far beyond chart peaks across the last decade, her work has influenced alternative pop, hip hop music, indie electronic music and fashion led visual identity in pop and while mainstream visibility may have fluctuated, the influence remained constant.
