Beartooth’s “Eyes Closed” Proves Caleb Shomo Is Still Metalcore’s Most Fearlessly Honest Voice.
Some bands write songs to escape their demons, Beartooth have built an entire career by staring them straight in the face.

“Eyes Closed,” the latest single from Beartooth forthcoming sixth album Pure Ecstasy arriving ahead of the album's release on 28 August, Caleb Shomo and company deliver another emotional gut-punch that balances crushing riffs, soaring melodies and the kind of vulnerability that has become Beartooth's trademark.
Few modern metalcore bands have mastered the balance between brutality and honesty quite like they have. Across six albums, Shomo has transformed personal battles with anxiety, addiction and self-worth into songs that feel intensely personal yet universally relatable. Eyes Closed continues that tradition, carrying the emotional weight fans have come to expect while sounding refreshed by a new creative direction.
Speaking about the song, Shomo described it as one of the most exciting tracks to write, praising its huge riffs and the cathartic release that came with recording it. The track was developed alongside producer Jordan Fish, whose influence continues to shape the sonic evolution of Pure Ecstasy.
